Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel

I chanced upon Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel for its budget friendly accommodation. For a Premium Suites, it's only P1650 per night with free set breakfast for 2. Not bad. Making reservations on their website - http://www.subicwaterfronthotel.com - was easy. Confirmation was quickly sent to my email address.

But when I went back and googled their website, I found another link - http://subicwaterfront.com. When I checked this page, it has the same photo of the resort, same address, but room rates are higher. As long as I got the cheaper rate, that's fine. I found some bad reviews about their rooms from TripAdvisor and Agoda so I lowered my expectations. What's interesting though are the raves about their pool.

Going to the resort was hassle-free. We passed by NLEX, SCTEX, then Rizal Highway.

At the end of Rizal Hwy, we turned left at Manila Avenue. Landmark is a Landbank building at the corner on our left side. We drove straight ahead then at the end of Manila Avenue, we turned right to Dewey Avenue. There we saw Seafood by the Bay. We exited at Kalaklan Gate Checkpoint, then turned left following a sign towards Zambales.

We passed by a cemetery...

Then saw Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital..

Then after crossing a short bridge, we spotted our destination!

I presented our printed vouchers and deposited P500. Since we arrived an hour earlier than the expected check in time, we were told we could wait at their Cafe. We did and enjoyed the view of the pool.

2PM, we were accompanied to our room. It was a bit walk from the pool area but that's fine. All their rooms were booked that day. Well, I'm not surprised. It was May 3 and for some, it was a long week end. It was already a challenge booking a room online at least 7 days prior to the date , how much more walking in on the day itself.

The Room.

I booked 2 Premium Suites. The room is spacious, I think 2 more persons can squeeze in. It has a queen size bed, an old 21 inch TV, mini-ref, hot and cold shower, a monoblock table and chairs, cabinet, basic toiletries.

For those people who rant about the smell, well I smelled the same thing too right after I entered the room. And this smell existed in my mom's room as well. There is no exhaust in the bathroom so any smell produced in the bathroom circulates in the entire room.

All in all, the room is just fine. It's not something good nor something that worst either. I know this is not a 5 star hotel, therefore, I can live with it. Most of the time we were out swimming  in the pool, which is the best part anyway.

Breakfast was ready by 7AM. Upon check-in we were given food stubs to be presented to the waiter/waitress. I think it's the first time I experienced that. Usually, we'll just say our room number and that's it, the food will be served. Anyway, the food was just fine. Nothing fancy or something like that but definitely our stomachs were pretty much satisfied.

wanna drink while sunbathing?
one of the great things family will love about this place other than the kid's pool is their playground!!

enough parking space
Check out time: 12 Noon. We got our P500 deposit back and bid good bye to the resort. Will I go back? Yes, why not, but only because my kids enjoyed the pool.

Subic Waterfront Resort and Hotel seems to be a cool place to stay in Subic. I've been to Trasure Island in Subic, just nearer in Baloy Long beach, but based on the photos on this resort, I think Subic WF is way better than the Treasure Island. Also, a 1650 per night is way cheaper compared to 2000-2500 that I've paid in another hotel!

I just hoped that I've learned about this hotel way before. This Christmas, I'll try to book in their hotel for our holiday getaway. :)

Nice place you got there. I'm pretty sure you had a good time since the place is so nice and relaxing. I also love their interiors and the ambiance. You should also try visiting the premium hotels in Manila. I'm sure you'll love it too. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
