🚗 Road Trip. We left around 3:30AM. Passed by NLEX, SCTEX, TPLEX, then exited at the last toll gate of TPLEX and headed onto MacArthur highway, La Union Bypass road, then after the bypass road, San Juan na! Very easy especially if mag waze ka! ⛽️ Gas: Full Tank.

🛣 Toll Fee: NLEX-SCTEX (Bocaue - Tarlac) 316 pesos; TPLEX (Tarlac - Pozzorubio) 270 pesos. That's 586x2 way.. Total 1,172 pesos.

⌚️ Travel time: Left at around 3:30AM. Arrived at our first destination, Macho Temple, at around 8:15 AM. Two stops - 7/11 and breakfast along the highway for 1 hour total.

🏠 ACCOMMODATION - Villas Buenavista Hotel & Restaurant

😱 I booked this resort (via Expedia thru a travel agency) I guess 2 months before our trip and I really thought booking dates are October 18-20. I never had the chance to double check nor call the resort few days prior to our trip (busy much with work and life in general). While we were on the road that October 18 morning was when I checked our hotel voucher and hayun, it stated there our booking date was October 17-19!

😌 It was a big relief when the resort's staff that, instead of voiding our first night, she allowed the dates to be moved to the date we actually arrived. Buti may ganung option sila.. We were able to enjoy our 3 days and 2 nights stay!

❤️ Again, thank you Villas Buenavista! 😘

💵 The room is priced at around 10,500+ (superior room for 2) for 2 nights. Plus additional 400 pesos per kid per day and this includes daily breakfast for all. All in all, our resort expense for 2 adults + 2 kids is 10,500 (superior room, with breakfast) + 1,600 (2 extra kids @ 400 pesos, x2 nights, with breakfast). Total 11,100.

🚪 Our room is at the first floor, has of 1 double bed + 1 single bed. Then we were given an extra foam, set of pillows and blankets (dahil 4 nga kame). Room has small fridge, I think 32 inches flat cable TV, cabinet, toilet & bath with bath tub. Toiletries are toothbrush/toothpaste, round soaps, cotton pad and cotton buds, shampoo/body soap dispenser. Medyo madaling mabasa ang toilet floor coming from the bath tub. Madyo icky feeling lang if the floor is always wet. Our room doesn't have a safety box. Not that we brought treasures with us (not that we have any.. LOL), it would still be nice if there is a safety box. Parking is spacious too!

🍳 Breakfast choices are the usual silog meals like corned beef, hotdog, fried bangus, longanisa, tocino, which comes with egg, fried rice and coffee/juice/hot choco. Continental breakfast is among the breakfast choices too. I like their restaurant, it is just beside the pool and near the beach view.

🏊‍♂️ The resort has a pool, which is great! I am not a fan of swimming in the pool (and swimming in general) because I easily get cold, but this time I enjoyed it because this pool has warm water.

🏄‍♂️🏄‍♀️ RIDING THE WAVES

🌊 In Bgy Urbiztondo is where the surfing lessons at. We happened to ask around and the price for an hour of surfing lesson + board is 500 pesos. Kids wanted to experience surfing and so we thought, Go! Me? Pass. I already tried it but didn't like it. So tiring for me..

🌊In the resort, they also offer surfing lesson but for 600 pesos. We were good with the price at first, but when the staff told us we had to go to Urbiztondo for the lesson and also our 8 year old needs a companion, naku, we backed out. E galing na nga kame dun sa urbiztondo, which is 2 km away from the resort, babalik na naman kame dun. Kaya, next time nalang mga kids.

🍚 FOOD. Medyo Mahelya (a bit pricey) ang mga food mga besh. Especially in Urbiztondo. Around 160-200 pesos ang meal perperson.)There are some eatery rin around the area. We spent around 3,600 for the food - breakfast, lunch and dinner on day 1. Lunch, dinner and groceries on day 2. Lunch on day 3. Remember we are a group of 4. Namahalan kame sa dinner (day1), lunch and dinner (day2) because we ate at Urbiz. The rest, sa eatery nalang.

TOURIST DESTINATIONS

😶 We were supposed to go to Tangadan falls that's why we left very early to allot time for trekking. But on the way there, I read a lot of negative reviews online about guides overpricing, scamming, etc etc.. To save ourselves from any hassle, we decided to skip the falls and proceeded to Macho Temple.

⛩ MACHO TEMPLE. The worship room is closed but we were able to freely roam around, magpicture picture, but had to be quiet. After all, this is still a place of worship. No entrance fee.

⛪️ PINDANGAN RUINS. A caretaker collected 25 pesos each for adults (which is weird for me.. I mean Macho temple is free, tapos dito na catholic naman tayo halos may bayad! May maintenance din naman both) Oh well.. Kids are free. This is an old church built in May 1786 but was damaged by a strong earthquake in 1872. It was buried in vegetation for a long time then soon unearthed to reveal its history.

It was one chill vacation. The sound of the waves and the fresh sea air are so relaxing. I had a head ache due to sinusitis the day we arrived but I felt better after the vacation. O diba... Iba talaga ang power ng malinis na hangin.

If you want mag partey partey with millenials, Elyu has that. If you want mag surf to the max, Elyu has that. Mag food trip, maging tourista, magchill, a quiet time with the family, Elyu has that. And that makes Elyu super awesome!
