Canyon Cove, Batangas

We went for a mid-week summer getaway last March 14-15 2017. I wanted to treat my family before
the craziness of the summer starts and I thought of Canyon Cove as the perfect place because this resort is kid-friendly, senior friendly, basically everything friendly!

I bought 2 vouchers from Metrodeal. It says overnight stay for 4 for only 2999 on weekdays. Now, be careful of the terms, you gotta read it carefully. 4 means 2 adults and 2 kids. In most hotels, 2 kids are already free. And if you say good for 4, it means 4 adults. What I am trying to say is, when purchasing deals online, always read the terms before purchasing because the ad could be tricky sometimes.

Okay. Going back to Canyon Cove.



Instead of taking SLEX, we opted for a CavitEx route. Travel is faster due to less traffic. The only downside is the uphill/downhill and curvy roads.

Upon entering the gate of Canyon Cove, a guard counts the number of passengers and writes it on a gate pass paper. Now, you have to present this paper to the reception upon check in. This controls the exact number of people checking in. Bringing outside food is strictly prohibited. Snacks are allowed.

There are tons of visitors here, therefore early check in is not possible. Though going around the resort and swimming in the beach/pool is already welcome.

Dinner at night consists of either dining at their restaurant or at the grill area. In the grill area are fresh seafood and meat. It's similar to the Dampa or paluto style where they weigh the seafood or meat of your choice then pay depending on the amount per weight.

Their free breakfast consists of 2 viands and unlimited rice, with unlimited juice or coffee.

I love this place, really perfect for the family. Their beach is clean and pool is huge. Perfect place to relax and enjoy!

Going home, we went onto a different route - SLEX, because we wanted to stop by Tagaytay to eat Bulalo. Gosh, the traffic was awful! If not for the Tagaytay, we could have chosen Cavitex route.

That's it for our family's summer getaway! Canyon cove is highly recommended. Buy 2 nights worth in Metrodeal, it's going to be worth it!
