42/82 Buscalan, Kalinga Province

Isn't Wang-Od pretty? She gives this loving aura vibe that you want to hug her the moment you see her.

People flock to Buscalan to witness the oldest mambabatok from the Butbut tribe. Unfortunately, our group didn't get a chance to be inked by her due to a long waiting list. Still, we are grateful to have experienced the traditional tattoo by Wang-Od's nieces.

As the Butbut tribe sits at the top of a cliff, the trek is not to be taken lightly... with the rough incline plus the scourging heat makes the 1.5 to 2  hours trek challenging.

Beside the community lies a beautiful rice terraces landscape. Bring your coffee and watch the sun rise.

🚌 Getting there: We availed a group tour package that includes transportation, guide fee, overnight accommodation, meals (dinner and breakfast), side trip in Banaue going there and a stop over at Baguio going home.

Takeaways:
✅️ Visit during weekdays for less tourists and a higher chance to get tattooed by Wang-Od.
✅️ Can bring own vehicle. Parking at the jump off point
✅️ Better find an accommodation firsthand especially for weekend visits.
✅️ Tourism people awaits, no need to worry about guides
