Camiguin Day3 - Leaving Camiguin

The previous day's experience left us feeling restless. Our original itinerary supposedly was to visit the White Island on our third day, in the morning and not on the first day, but since we've already been there, we decided not to go anymore and instead lounge on the resort's pool. Unfortunately, the pool's motor went dead that morning so we weren't able to experience their pool.

The few hours in the resort were spent in fixing our bags and getting ready for check out. We had to leave early as you know the travel back to Manila is quite long. At 10AM we were fetched by the same Jeep we rented for the tour. We paid additional P500 to take us back to Benoni Port. But before that we bought pasalubong first in the Market.

Lanzones.

Camiguin is famous for their sweet Lanzones. We thought of buying 10 Kilos of lanzones as we heard it was cheap however we learned that it was P75-80 per kilo because it wasn't the "season" yet. We also found out that lazones season starts in the 3rd week of October. Nevertheless, we still bought some.

Pastel.

When I looked at Vanjdep's pastel box, it didn't cross my mind that it would look like just an ordinary bakery. Like the one's we have just the corner of our subdivision/village. It looks so humble considering their Pastel is very famous and a must buy when going to Camiguin. We also tried their empanada and it was good. We also bought Piniatto, Vinegar made of lanzones, Cheese stick, tablea chocolate & Batirol. We bought souvenir T-shirts during our Inland tour.

We reached Benoni Port at 12Noon. The only available ferry was a fast craft for P250 but there would be an ordinary ferry available at 1:20PM for only P180. We decided to take the fastcraft and were glad we did. The ferry is airconditioned, with TV and would only take 30 minutes to get to the next port.

When we reached Balingoan port, we took the next bus available for the same fare, P143. And since it was still early when we reached CDO, we decided to stop by SM CDO to eat lunch/mirienda at 4PM. Then at 5:30, we left SM and headed towards the airport. Good thing, the plane took off on time.

Funny thing was some of us weren't able to get back to work the following day due to exhaustion and sickness. Some of us got cough and colds because we were wet practically the entire day. But then again, it's all worth the experience.
