Balanga, Bataan :: Day 1 Part 1 - Overnight stay at The Plaza Hotel

The first time we went to Bataan was when we did an overnight camping at Stella Mariz Beach Resort. There are other wonderful attractions in this province, but what got my interest in coming back is this hotel located at the heart of the City of Balanga - The Plaza Hotel.

Stunning, isn't it?

I first learned about this hotel from an online group buying site - Dealgrocer.  A promo of P2000 (two thousand pesos) for an overnight stay (exclusive of breakfast) in an Executive room is a good deal. An option for this hotel to book directly from Dealgrocer is available.

Then I remember the voucher I bought from a Travel Expo few months back - a day tour in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, also in Bataan. I just put two and two together and finally, our awesome Bataan itinerary!

To complete our itinerary, we squeezed in a side trip to Abucay Church. Reason for this is that my Aunt’s maiden name is Abucay and I see that Abucay Church has a history to tell.

Itinerary:

 Day 1 – Dec 12, 2015
   Side Trip to Abucay Church
   Overnight in Balanga

Day 2 – Dec 13, 2015
Day tour in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar

We had a challenge reaching the parking lot. But we managed to find it after asking around. We were assisted to park in front of the hotel.

The Reception/Lobby area is found at the 3rd floor. Same level as Kyoto Cafe, their restaurant.

After paying P1,000 per room for a security deposit and given our key card, we were assisted to our rooms.

Unfortunately, our room windows do not face the plaza. Nevertheless, we're more than okay with what he have.

sleeping here is so relaxing. soft bed, pillows and comforters
just don't peer at the window. this room is located at the back, therefore, no pretty view. mini fridge is inside the closet, under the tv
slippers
my kid broke one of the glasses. we were charged around P105 or P115.. i forgot the exact amount, but definitely less than P150
2 sets of toothbrush, comb, cotton buds, make-up/compact pad, shaver and shaving cream, lotion
(from left) shampoo/conditioner, bath soap, shower cap, bath gel
Balanga City Hall
18th century Balanga Cathedral
44 Km Death March
Galeria Victoria. Housed the Robinson's Mall. There is a playground and in-ground fountain in front of this building.
We truly had a relaxing stay in this hotel. And its location is perfect! But what made our entire experience complete and worth remembering is seeing my kids enjoy the playground and the in-ground fountain. Imagine my kids wet from running around, chasing where the next pipe the water would come out, at 9 PM!

Yup, will definitely go back!
