San Vicente, Palawan
Philippine Airlines launched a sale for the opening of its Clark to San Vicente, Palawan route. Luckily, my friends and I were able to score pretty good deals.....
San Vicente, Palawan is right in between El Nido and Puerto Princesa. So if your are DIY-ing El Nido and Puerto Princesa, I highly advise you drop by San Vicente and visit the longest beach in the Philippines!!!
It was a small plane of Philippine Airlines and we flew over the beautiful Mount Arayat! It was such a nice view!!!
An hour later we were in the newly opened San Vicente Airport!
Most of the tricycles in the airport are electric-powered. We rode one and asked to be dropped off Turublien.
Turublien is pretty near the airport and it's location is just so perfect. We stayed in one of the airconditioned rooms of a house across the river. We had to cross via a balsa.
We arrived around 8AM. We immediately rented motorcycles, if I recall it is P400 for 24 hours, from the owner of Turublien. We visited the town area and ate lunch there, near the bay. It's a small town and there's nothing much to see.
In the afternoon, we explored the beach by motorcycling on the shore to the farthest end. There are rock formations dividing the long beach and so we didn't really explored the entirety of this long beach.
At night, we ate in Turublien's. Food is served along the beach which is PERFECT! Fresh crabs and fish are on the table. It was delicious!
The next day, our day was spent on island hopping - white sand beach, waterfalls and sand bars. Our tour guide said there were only a quite few of Filipino tourists there as majority are from Europe. Now that San Vicente is more accessible through these direct flights, more Filipino's are coming in to visit. Having said that, don't be surprised to see tons of foreigners in their beautiful bikinis!
We decided to eat dinner in town and check out any local happenings. We hired a tricycle and the driver waited for us the entire night. How long? Til midnight I guess. Not to mention after dinner, my friends decided to celebrate our stay with alcohols. 😀
Check out our video here. Vid is only up to the waterfalls trip. My phone which I used to record videos fell out of the water and died. But that's okay, after the waterfalls trip there's nothing interesting much anyway.
